                    POWEREXEC OS/2 SUSPEND/MOUSE GHOSTING


PROBLEM:       The following hardware and software incompatibilities exists:

                1) While under OS/2, the PowerExec hangs (locks up) upon
                   returning from the Suspend mode.

                2) Under standard OS/2 configuration, mouse movement causes a
                   "ghosting" (shadow) to the right of the mouse pointer.

CAUSE:         Incompatibility with the OS/2 RGB (204, 204, 204) color
               combination using a Hitachi LCD panel.

SYSTEMS
AFFECTED:      PowerExec 486SL/25 Mono and Color.

SOLUTION:      1) Use IBM's OS/2 Corrective Service Pack, version 2.11.  This
                  pack can be downloaded from Compuserve at

               It can also be shrink-wrapped as version 2.11, or by
               contacting IBM.

               2) Replace the Hitachi LCD panel with the NEC LCD panel.  Part
                  Numbers are as follows:
